The Club has a number of lightweight packs, tents, sleeping bags and matts that can be hired. This way you can try overnight hiking without much outlay. Evans Head - Forest bathing with David
Razorback Lookout, Evans Head
08:30 – 14:00
If you like secluded coves, pebble-strewn beaches and square-jawed rock platforms, plus ocean vistas and flowering heathland, then this is a walk for you. We will do a variation of walk of a walk we've done before, a circuit from Razorback Lookout, south of Evans Head, through heathland and down to a hidden coastline where we can fossick, swim and sit. There will be a short, steep climb from the final beach to secluded bushland with a million-dollar ocean view before we reach Razorback Lookout and rejoin our vehicles. As a forest bathing walk, we will engage in nature connection activities and spend time walking in silence and chatting over lunch. Be prepared to get wet with an activity in the water and swimming time for those who wish to. The total walk is 7 km and about 4+ hours to complete. Grade 3 with the final steep ascent and walking along a stony beach, so steadiness on your feet is required. If it is hot, we cool down with shaded pandanus and ocean swim. For those who wish, we will carpool from the BP station at the bottom of Bruxner Highway and travel to Evans Head from there. Enquires to David david@davidroland.com.au. I won’t be leading a walk in March because I will be hiking in NZ.

Forest bathing hike Unicorn Falls
Mount Jerusalem National Park
08:30 – 15:00
Our first forest bathing hike for the year will take us to one of our favourite locations – Unicorn Falls and creek in Mount Jerusalem National Park. This is an off-track walk that follows the creek from the falls to a turnaround point where we will stop for a swim and lunch by two beautiful swimming holes, where few people go. Be prepared for rock hopping and walking/swimming through water on the way back. I love this walk for its sensory variety, out-of-this-world splendour and the getting wet part! We will spend time walking in silence with a few nature connection activities and chatting over lunch with laughter on the way back as we plunge ourselves into waterholes. Walk time is only 1 – 1.5 hours each way but rated Grade 4 with the rock hopping and the off-track nature. Details David david@davidroland.com.au

Manns Road & South Chowan Road
08:00 – 16:00
From Manns Rd we hike up a short hill and then follow an old logging track down a steep hill into the creek. This is a good walk for a hot day because we follow the creek all the way back to Unicorn Falls. It is possible to do this hike without getting wet, but it is easier and a lot more fun if you plan to get wet. Grade 3, Leader Steve 0414 312 917          We will car pool next to the bridge leaving Mullumbimby

Brunswick Heads
09:00 – 13:00
Our forest bathing Christmas celebration this year will be at Wallum – Brunswick Heads, a scribbly gum forest beside Simpson’s Creek. This is a beautiful location with wonderful birdlife and easy to get to. It is also adjacent to the proposed development that is being challenged by many in the community. I will offer a series of nature connection activities and nature-based games that last 2.5 to 3 hours. We will be walking about 2 km; the ground is soft and sandy in parts and mostly flat. We finish at lunchtime when we can share treats and swim in Simpsons Creek. Grade 2. If you book and you then need to cancel, please let me know. Enquires david@davidroland.com.au
